Honkey Talk

Hello world, it's been a hella long time since I have posted. Yes, I'm alive, but more importantly, how are you America? Seen better times? A little worse for wear as they say? You're not alone. We could insert a stat here, a poll or a percentage of people who say they feel dissatisfied with what's coming out of Washington DC. But a poll won't tell you (nor would one even ask the question) the number of Americans who just feel something is 'wrong' for lack of a better term. You know (at least I do) in your heart of hearts that something has changed in America. And it's not for the better. Is it the technology, always wrapping us in its loving, sterile arms? Just take the past ten years. In 1997, did you have full time 200 channel cable, did you have a cell phone, did you have a car with a TV built into the back of the seat, did a video play pseudo 'fauxnews tidbits' to you at the bank, in the fruit section of your grocery, on the gas pump? In 1997 did you have satellite radio in your car, internet radio, a tevo, or any desire to get your stomach stapled?
Heh heh!
Me neither.
And don't tell me it's 9-11 man! I can deal with some rag-tag guys hijacking some airplanes and wreaking havoc. We were complacent as a nation (yes I'm looking at the White House, but who put em in there?) and just not in the mindset of those cold blooded killers. The average joe wasn't thinking that people would do that or were going to do that. Obviously, no red blooded American is going to let any crazy nut do that again. So it's tragic and awful and we got hit . . . okay. I can deal with that.
It's this administrations response to this 9-11 hijacking that is so crazy. And this I am not okay with. Every day I read more lies and bad decisions and people resigning and pleading the fifth and we lost 50,000 presidential correspondence emails on our RNC server, blah, blah, blah. 100 soldiers a week dead in Iraq- but we can't leave- we must complete the mission? What is the mission please? Here is how I see it.
Find WMD/Not find WMD: check
Topple dictator: check.
Establish a democracy (hold elections): check
Now what? Oh wait I see. Those were all really paper thin lies told to us straight from the Oval Office from George and Dick. We are really there for the oil. Remember, Operation Iraqi Liberation=OIL. Never mind North Korea claim they are testing underground nukes and we got the seismograph readings to tell us they're blowing up something huge. Whistle in the wind . . . no problem with that.
Let's face it America.
We got boondoggled, we got fleeced, we got taken by VERY GOOD snake oil salesmen who dress in crisp suits with power ties who eat some apple pie, kiss a baby, wave a flag and tell you only they know what the Bible has to teach you. It hurts, I know. The last thing somebody wants to do is admit that somebody else got the better of them. It's embarrassing, but if we learn from it we can get stronger and not let this dangerous parade of sociopaths ever waltz through the halls of government again. Or at least for about thirty years which is about how long it has been since the Kent State riots and I feel that is an important milestone.
But common America, just admit it, we got suckered, the foxes are not only in the hen house, they have set up a thriving hen sweatshop industry where cute little baby chicks go 'peep peep' for 6 cents a day. *grabs a tissue* I know, it's sad. But these treacherous clowns and their ilk have no business running anything remotely close to government machinery besides perhaps our sewage treatment plants and road cleanup crews.
Today in USA Today we have supposed 'righty conservative' Cal and the supposedly 'lefty liberal' Bob discussing global warming. It's pathetic. We have Cal claiming that environmentalists are "notorious for not letting the facts get in the way of a good, if harrowing, story". Here's the 500 person UN global report on global warming, Cal. It's a good 'story', but the endings kinda a downer. Then he goes into persecution mode, "Do they give conservatives a fair shake? Just a couple weeks ago, the greenies celebrated the 37th Earth Day as though it were a religious holiday. For the secularists, planet-worship has replaced holidays like Christmas and Easter." All I can say on that Cal is thanks for the laugh. Then he says even if there were global warming that we can't have the government do anything about about this 'supposed' warming because that would invite (cue ominous music) BIG GOVERNMENT. "And that doesn't mean relying on big government. Radical environmentalists would end the lifestyles we have worked hard to create that make life enjoyable." All right. Give me a break Cal. That dog don't hunt. After calculating that the Iraqi fiasco rings in at 500 BILLION now with no discernible end in sight, I don't think you have the credibility to say one darn thing about the fact that 'OMG big govnmt' might have to *gasp* spend some money or put together a wing of personel to deal with a huge problem. Oh wait, I forgot, you don't believe in global warming, or perhaps you don't want your ExxonMobil stock value to do down, who knows? Next Please.
But the point is, who are these chuckle heads? Why do we listen to them knowingly lie to us? Is technology bombarding us with so many lies so fast that so many people just accept (if it's framed right) the obvious untruths they are told? Are we that dumb? How can we have people we don't trust running the government? When the Attorney General of the US LIES in front of Congress, he isn't just 'misspeaking'. It really bothers me that the top law enforcement officer in the land is blatantly lying to Congress. Why do you think so many Republicans are outraged also?
I know it's hard to fathom but some people don't care about democracy, thought they claim it most sacred. Some people don't believe in equality for all men and women or about prosperity for all or goodwill toward men or peace on earth or any of that. These wolf in sheep's clothing look all right, they act all right, and they say the right things all the time. But their interests are not your interests. Their goals and ambitions have no place for you in them. For they seek to unequivocally rule with absolute power, just as mankind has been driven to do since the dawn of creation.
