Not Gonna Happen
Erin told me a secret. I can't tell it to you, but Ryan and Tom know. Even though they might not know they know. But do you know, I go to DagonBytes every night before bed, print out one of Lovecraft's stories, and peruse it while I fall asleep?!? Well now you do! I'm listening to music off of shoutcast. Does anyone else use that? They have like 5 million types of stations with no commercials. Good for news :P
So do I know any Jews out there? Well, sure I do. But GOOD friends, close friends that are Jewish? Ehh . . . From high school I know ALOT of jews and ALOTTER of Mormons. (Heheheh. Alotter, I claim that word.) But, damn if I don't know a good jewish person to sit down and talk to about Israel being at war. Because I seriously would to like to hear an Isreli position besides destroying Beruit. Yes, Hesbollah (sic) are wrong in attacking, killing, kidnapping, and missiling the Isreli soldiers and civilians; BUT, leveling Beruit is not going to solve that problem. This shit has got to end IMHO, and with as few or zero casualties as possible, thank you, Isreal,
love,
Larry.
Yes Israel should defend itself, as it is quite capable of doing, but show some restraint please. As a recent op-ed peice from the post contributer Philip H. Gordon put it, no war can be won by air bombings alone and air bombings will not turn the populace against its opressive leaders, in fact, it will do quite the opposite, which we can clearly see when we observe the support rate for Hezbollah rise with each sucessful Isreli airstrike- of which I just read have topped 2000 in the past two weeks. And I feel the typical Isreli would respond, "But Hezbollah has fired 2000 rockets at Haifa . . ." and that is why, dear friends, I want to talk to a Jew 'bout this ordered chaos, as I see it.
What else is new? Good (by that, I mean terrible) clips of Bush being a fucking moron. Hmmm. So what am I happy about, well, Georges birthday is coming up . . . for the first reader to correctly reply as to 'what Georges age will be as of Aug. 1' you will win a free flight to Tel Aviv, first class.
Ready, set, go!
But seriously, I got him Stratego, remember that board game? I have to send all this down to AZ tomorrow . . . I got him these marvel comic collections, like graphic novels, of the first runs of Wolverine and Daredevil (Peter, I almost got him Punisher- thinking of you). Also a good new starter pack for Magic the Gathering, he and I played that extensively in Telluride a month ago. I talked to him today and he wants a new computer even though his mother just got a new one within the year . . . I told him I don't have the money for a new computer and perhaps we can build him one this fall when I see him again. I asked him what kind of toys he wanted, and he said anything about Star Wars. :)
Damn if Lucas dosen't have those kids plugged in.
It's cool 'cause he's still at the stage where Legos are fun, and the wind is still anew, if you get my drift. My relationship with my boy has been an overwhealming source of angsiety (sic) for me in the past ten years. But now, like just today, I called Georges mom, told her to kiss my ass and talked to George. I NEVER could have done that before. So I fixed it!
Now you all benifit, because ALOT of music is coming. You don't know how much unheard stuff I have just sitting upstairs! All because of stupid reasons, like one track doesn't have drums, the other doesn't have the final vocals on just the last 5%of it, this one hasn't been transferred from analog to digital . . . the list goes on. But the point being, now I have the peace of mind, with my relationship with George being satisfactory, and my relationship with Erin getting on better than expected, to get on with what I love, which is music. Jewish music, of course . . .

Okay, game of the week, MULE, if anyone wants to play me, gimme a note.
What else is new? Hmmm . . .
I think Pat Toney IS Reid Fleming.
I MIGHT get a bank account.
November elections are coming up. Make sure you are registered to vote and you know where you precint is. No one is gonna do it for you.
WARNING: Political diatribe ahead!!!
My girlfriend and I were talking news the other day and I mentioned November elections. She said "I don't vote in those." I think anything but the Presidential election is somewhat offputting to alot of folks.
We talked about what the November elections really mean. And in the final result, I realized they are more importaint then the Presidential election. The upcoming elections determine the people who write our laws and decide where the money gets spent. The decider, or Bush, can only sign off or veto the proposed legislation or budget. So think about it people, if we can take the House and Senate (yes I'm talking about voting Democratic) away from the Repubs we can effectively dis-em-power the executive branch (Bush). Bushco won't be so very potent without his little House writing bills for him to rubberstamp; and the Senate cannot blindly debt us into oblivion.
This is the best way to nullify Bushcos power in the foreseeable future to me.
We are stuck with Bush for two and a half more years. Even if Dems take the House, impeaching Bush is an impractical move now. Let's just put him in limbo.
Register. Figure out where your precint is, probably at a school or church near you. And go VOTE!
Oh, and Pat, this is for you.

Comments:
OK, 2 reasons we will be frineds for ever:
1. You remembered my brief, though overwhelming, obsession with the Punisher when I was in sxth grade. Crazy.
2. Though it was dedicated to P. Toney, the link to Husker Du on YouTube gave me chills that were only surpassed by the Minute Men videos I found on the same page. Fucking brilliant. Keep up the good work.
