Happy Christmiska!
A cold wind howls, an eagle cries, and I push the primer and pull the ripcord to start the ignition on my snowblower. I have begun work on the Snowblower EP. It will be out in a week or two here.
Well, Ryan let the cat out of the bag, I am in Park City, UT, and my spirits have improved. My two best friends are my ten and thirteen year old girl cousins, and I know all the hit songs on the radio now. Look out, Usher, I'm coming for ya.
I work at a hotel called the Silverking at the base of the Park City ski mountain. I have been working two weeks and they want to make me the front desk supervisor, which pays 30k a year salary. People, I have NEVER made even close to 30k in my life so I am stunned and exuberant to say the least. I can now pay you all back! But most importaintly, I will now have money to rectify the situation with my son, as I need a lawyer and those fellas aren't cheap. So I have been working mostly days but I also do night auditing which consists of like two hours of paperwork for a nine hour shift. This is perfect, as I can write new songs (computer music like Summer Of The Locusts) during the other seven hours and play some Nethack, hehe.
Nethack = nethack.org
I haven't smoked dope in a month now and that's a good thing. Kids, I was sucking down at LEAST a quarter a week in Houston. I was perma-stoned. But you could probably tell that from my dark poetry during the past few months. I was also up to ten Hinekens a night (yes, A NIGHT), but thank goodness I now have a more positive outlook on life and I don't need that crutch. My wallet also appreciates it too. GLUG! *TOSS* SMASH! TINKLE!
I think I see a way out!
So get ready for the best music ADC has released yet, keen, happy thoughts, and your regular repsitory of zany news here at the ADC.com from now on. Now I'm not saying I will never revert back into my cold, miserable, cynical persona, as it can be kinda a hoot, BUT for the near future happy thoughts and smiles will abound here for your perusing pleasure.
I have to get back into the groove of blogging, actually I am posting this from an iMac and the one button mouse makes me feel like handicapped retard. Once I get DSL and my old computer hooked up you will see pictures and links again. I know I miss the pictures.
So the Sundance film festival will be here from January 20th to the 30th and get this, the crew from my favorite show, Strangers With Candy, will be staying in my hotel while promoting their new movie! There is a god! Some pretty sweet films are going to be premeired at Sundance and y'all will get the full reviews at this very website. A few movies I am planning to get tickets for:
Strangers With Candy- duh!
Harlan County, USA- a documentary on a miners' strike from the seventies
Rock School- a real school that teaches kids to, well, ROCK!
Wolf Creek- a supposedly true UFO thriller set in Australia
This Revolution- coverage of the RNC riots
New York Doll- the 30 year reunion of the New York Dolls, funded by Morrisey (no shit)
The Devil And Daniel Johnston- a film about our troubled friend Danny
Protocols Of Zion- exposing the BS about the Jews wanting to run the world
I tried to go Christmas shopping today and I couldn't find ANY of the gifts I wanted to buy for my loved ones here in Park City. So tomorrow I plan to drive to the heart of the beast, Salt Lake, to get the goods at a Best Buy. I need Beatles, Zepplin, Usher, and Emenem CDs (remember, these are not for ME! :P) and I need the Curb Your Enthusiasm DVD plus a Bill Hicks CD for my Uncle. There is a WallMart here, but they had NONE of these things in stock. Pathetic. I was eying a Nintendo DS for myself, but my attention span has a hard time with video games these days, plus it's better spiritually if I spend my freetime writing music!
So right now I live with two turtles, two cats, one dog, eight sandcrabs, one rat, and several fish including one HUGE sucker fish who looks kinda scary. It snowed last night and I have this puffy, silver, down jacket and as I was walking home last night I passed a couple and I heard the guy tell his gal, "He probably works for NASA." It's good to have a secret identity. I just realized, just like Ryan, it has been exactly one month scence I last posted. Boy, we have good internal clocks! So I hope everyone reading this has some great holiday time, and remember, things may not turn out the way you planned, but they might just turn out better. Talk to you soon.
